need some colour reference for the 91st BG plane Delta Rebel no2, I have been comissioned to paint a jacket and need to know what colour the lettering should be. For now I am blocking it in in white, that wayI can overpaint in any colour and it will stand out.

Anyone able to assist? googling has had no result for me at least.

Comparing the shade of the lettering to the presumably white beard in a number of photos of the artwork, I'd suggest it's the same yellow as used for the fuselage markings.

That's only an educated guess though.

I'll pull the wartime AAF colour photo collection and see what turns up.

Cheers Paul. I had the same opinion that it is definately not white. Yellow seems likely to me too. Blocking in in white has been a mare as the jacket is dark but it will serve as a decent base.
