Was watching a documentary on Channel 5 about the bomber when for some strange reason a B-17 serial number leapt out at me and stuck in my mind?

It was written against the left waist port and was BN T superimposed against the USAAF roundel.

So guys or should I say Paul? :D what aircraft is this?

Also this program showed retired Bombardiers dropping practice bombs onto a runway via a B-25 in Sacramento, California.

So Bill and you boys? is this your lot?

MIKE.

Thanks Paul.

I'd go for the first one "The Duchess" as it was an open waist position that I saw.

Both the other two were bare-metal Forts, so should be simple to count them out.

Bombardier 1st LT Jack Mathis earned a posthumous MOH in The duchess (Photos 1 and 2) on 18th March '43 flying from Molesworth. After jacks death, his brother 1st Lt Rhude Mark Mathis, a serving bombardier on b26s got a transfer to the 303rd and to the Duchess's crew for a time before also being lost on the 14th May '43 in another crew.

Was the doco about 17's in general or MOH winners? If I had have known ,would have watched it aswell...hey ho....
