Just to show that not everything coming out of the "Ruddy Great 'Ole" was in perfect condition, here's a chin turret control arm latch:

And what it should look like:

More stuff unloaded off the trailer...P-51 rear view mirror, Hughes flexible ammo tracking by the ton, this is just a small amount of what we have, it is so very rare & exceptionally hard to get hold of.....not surprising really as it's all buried at our site by the digger bucket full. A few P-38 50 cal ammo cans, then we have the B-17 Chin Turret ammo cans.Loads more to sort through yet & that's going to be some task!

more....loads of these walk-around bottles & armoured glass sections.

This bottle was taken today (Sunday 18th) to replace the stolen one on Sally B, so there's at least one part so far that will become airborne again.

Cracking work by you both,

great to see museums getting some of this stuff too so all credit to you, are you able to say who's had what so far ?? I know that James Mutton would love any 95th BG bits and bobs, its a top museum at Horham as you know and the team there are some of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet.

Good luck with the rest of it all, any update on a date on the programme ??

Cheers Dave

Dave has the new series out now on BBC East however, we have yet to edit the 2hrs of DV to put together something sensible as there is a great deal of stupidity taking up alot of film, so we will put this out for the next 2010 series which begins in Feb 2009.

If you look in most of the East Anglian museums you will see much of the space is populated by items recovered by us over the past 30 years, Horham are a very new setup & have missed out on a lot of recovered gear because a great deal of crash sites were dug in the 80's long before they exisited so consequently they don't have the amount of hardware displays that the earlier established museums now have. I invited the Roper family to attend the dig, George Roper was around as a kid on the 95th base & is a very interesting guy to talk to as well as being a founder member of the RFC. They will be taking delivery of the B-17 cowling with the 95th BG serial numbers on it once it's had a clean along with a few other interesting items.....
