Errrrrr......did you see the Otto Kanturek shoot (A Yank in the RAF) we did in 2006 & the Secret German Airbases in Norfolk shoot of Oct 2006 ? I played Flt Ofr Peter Meston flying the Blenheim with 'Llama Man' Forster as my Nav. Two there which have the WW2 Aviation theme....

Dave is a personal friend of mine & we were discussing our current respective projects & he was very disbelieving about all this junk reputed to have been buried by the USAAF, I had completed the Geoscan Radar work with Malcolm that week & then showed him the evidence in my office using overlays, it was I think at that point it became very apparent that there was some merit to my research, so excitedly we talked about what might be buried there & pitched it to his boss who susequently was really interested too & decided to make a short TV doc on it called 'Ultimate Metal Detector'

They going to have other era metal detectorists (?) or just ww2 stuff, sounds good though unless they make you / us, (I have a met dect which is just gathering dust at the minute) look like weirdos but if he's a mate that wont happen.....

when's it likely to be aired?

It's my supercool 'lucky' digging shirt ya cheeky monkey, I have to wear it else we get bad luck in finds, it has been on some of the most premier digs over the past 15 years so is my lucky talisman. You are only jealous, I can tell. I thought you were calling me at some point as you wanted to be baptised on your first dig didn't you?

You really should keep it covered you know. Other wise Wham may want you to help reform them!

Wont be my first dig either. Have a Wellington and B17 and a Messchersmidt to my credit. Many years ago now though. :D

Hey Cheif.....welcome to the forum.......GREAT pics fellas ...keep em coming.

a few "diggers" and aviation acheologists on here...me too.........included...2 x B-17 Digs in North Bedfodrshire...(Freers Wood ,Chellington and Great Odell Wood Podington ,Beds) and a Halifax near Potton Beds

Plus many a bit of gun tracking.....a couple of rare YB-40 waist mounts and a rake of other stuff from the lake behind the firing butts at Podington and a few more larger bits some which reside at Duxford and others that have gone back to Wright -Patt in the USA

Keep on digging boys.....great work

Regards

Lloyd

It was a health & safety festival......

I think the persistant flatulance resulted in this.....they say gas is heavier than air so therefore sinks to the bottom of the hole in which many were working, even though it was my dig I was frequently banned from the excavation area, I blamed the fish & chips we had Sat night, something in the batter perhaps??
